Vlr. Johnson Muthoka

Vlr. Johnson Muthoka is the Acting General Manager, Project Development Services at KETRACO with over 30 years professional experience. He is a registered and licensed valuer and land economist with extensive experience in wayleave acquisition, property valuation, resettlement planning and stakeholder engagement.

Since joining KETRACO in 2010, he has overseen critical project-development activities, including transmission-line route selection, land surveys, environmental and social impact assessments, resettlement action plans, asset valuation, compensation processes and the acquisition of substation sites. He has contributed to the successful completion of more than 6,300 kilometres of new transmission lines across Kenya.

Vlr. Muthoka holds a Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning and  a Bachelor of Arts in Land Economics (hons) both from the University of Nairobi and a post graduate diploma from the institution of surveyors of kenya (ISK). He is a full member of the ISK (Valuation surveyors chapter). He has also undertaken executive training in strategic leadership, project management, strategic planning, land acquisition and resettlement.
